KLANG-based Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre has much to celebrate as it marks its 20th anniversary this year.
The premier healthcare provider was recognised for its all-around service and top-quality facilities with the Malaysia Health and Awareness Brand Awards 2018 in the Private Hospital Category and the Facilities Improvement Initiative of the Year award in the Healthcare Asia Awards 2019.
The hospital also successfully completed the third cycle of the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) accreditation, receiving a full four years’ accreditation of MSQH’s fifth edition standards.
Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre director Tan Suet Guan said, “From the start, the hospital was determined to go beyond the traditional concept of serving a separate, indivisibility community.
“We strive to build an institution for the entire Klang district and beyond, in line with our brand promise.”
“In that same spirit, to ensure the accessibility of quality healthcare since 1999, we are continuously upgrading the hospital’s facilities and services to provide better healthcare experience for patients and visitors, ” she said during the anniversary celebration.
Soon to come is the launch of the hospital’s upgraded one-stop cancer centre, which will be equipped with cutting edge and state-of-the-art technology capable of providing the most advanced forms of radiation therapy, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and hormonal therapy.
Among its other upgrades include the total revamp of the 6th floor surgical ward, the installation of a 3D mammogram system and the use of the innovative picture archiving and communication system.
Tan pointed out that the system, in particular, has enabled Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre to significantly expedite and improve patient care, reduce the probability of errors in treatment and prescription as well as prevent redundant testing.
Themed “All Around the World”, the celebratory event to mark the hospital’s milestone was held at the Setia City Convention Centre to express gratitude to its staff, business partners, consultants, valued stakeholders and the media for dedicated service, provision of quality products and services, trust, loyalty and support since it started in 1999.
It was attended by Malaysian figure skater Julian Yee and 11 other athletes of the Malaysian Ice Skating Federation (MISF), with the hospital awarding the MISF team with a RM50,000 sponsorship as recognition for their hard work and effort in promoting the country in the sporting arena.
Other guests included three of Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre’s pioneer babies, who were delivered at the hospital.
As a token of appreciation, it extended a RM10,000 scholarship for each person to further their education.
In addition, the hospital also presented Hospice Klang and the National Cancer Society of Malaysia with a significant monetary contribution of RM5,000 each, in recognition of their efforts in providing the best possible care and support for those affected by cancer.
More than 550 guests were present at the occasion which included awards presentation for the longest serving staff, best performing nurse, best dressed staff and lucky draw with attractive prizes.
