KUCHING: Women play an important role in disaster management in Sarawak, particularly in efforts to tackle rabies and haze, says Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah.

He said women veterinarians were among those at the forefront of anti-rabies operations to vaccinate dogs, while women firefighters were equally capable as their male counterparts in fighting peat and forest fires.
