Asthma goes up 25% in haze

SELANGOR saw a 25% increase in asthma cases due to the ongoing haze that has almost reached dangerous levels over the past week, forcing people indoors and schools in the whole state to shut down.

“Cases like conjunctivitis and respiratory tract infection increased by 3% in this hazy weather, ” said Selangor Health Department director Datuk Dr Khalid Ibrahim.
