JOHOR BARU: The ongoing hot and dry spell has turned the state into a tinderbox with more than 500 fires recorded in the first two weeks of September alone.
Johor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Yahya Madis said the department received an average of 41 calls a day since the beginning of this month.
