YOUNG aspiring chefs had the opportunity to show off their culinary skills at the recent Massimo Junior Chef Workshop at Massimo’s baking studio in Sungai Buloh, Selangor.
The event, organised by Massimo and Kuntum magazine, saw 24 participants becoming junior chefs under the guidance of chef Sherson Lian.
Prior to filling up the cooking studio with a buzz of excitement, participants were briefed on safety guidelines.
The children proceeded to whip up three dishes – Breakfast Bake With Egg, French Choc and Marshmallow Roll Ups and Banana Cream Tart – using Massimo’s baked products.
After being junior chefs for the day, the participants were presented with a certificate each and treated to a special appearance by Comel, Kuntum’s mascot.
Aminahtulhawa Muhammad Amin, mother to 10-year-old Rayyan Ahmad Rosli of SK Jalan U3 Subang Perdana, said she was grateful that her son was shortlisted to participate in the workshop.
“The programme definitely boosted his interest in culinary, ” she added.
Back in its fifth year, the workshop hopes to give children hands-on experience in baking and cooking as well as nurture their culinary talent and interest.
For those interested to participate, stay tuned for further announcements on the next session in October.
