Organised by Zone 19 Residents’ Committee and Teratai assemblyman Bryan Lai’s office, the event is held in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on Sept 13.
It will be held today at Jalan Permai 21, Kampung Tasik Permai, Ampang from 5.30pm to 9.30pm.
Ampang Jaya municipal councillor Ten Kiat Loong said this year, the community would be involved in the process of food preparation, decoration and performances.
“Last time, people just flocked to the event for the buffet and celebration, but we are doing it differently this year.
Five hundred mooncakes were also made the day before by the residents.
“Some of the highlights include cultural dances from SJK(C) On Pong 2 and singing performances,” he said.
Lai said the event caters for the new village community that has a diverse population.
“The event is not only for the Chinese, but all are welcome to join in the festivities,” he said, adding that the event targeted 500 to 800 attendees.
