MALAYSIA Airlines is returning as the official airline for MATTA Fair 2019.

Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) chief executive officer Phua Tai Neng said this was the fourth time Malaysia Airlines had agreed to be official airline of the fair.

“MATTA is very pleased to have the national carrier on board for the largest consumer travel fair in the country,” he said.

Also present at the announcement was MATTA vice-president (air transportation) Shazli Affuat Ghazali and Malaysia Airlines Bhd group chief marketing and customer experience officer Lau Yin May.

Lau said, “As always, we are committed to offering the best deals exclusively at MATTA Fair. Besides Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and Enrich will have a presence at the fair.”

She said Malaysia Airlines’ customers stood a chance of winning tickets to London, Bangkok or Jakarta, among various other destinations, in the MATTA Fair Buyers Contest.

She added that Firefly would follow suit by offering customers the opportunity to win tickets to Alor Setar, Johor Baru, Penang, Kota Baru or Kuala Terengganu.

“MATTA has always been the biggest consumer fair in the country, something that all of us look forward to every March and September.

“We are committed to offering great travel plans and deals exclusively for visitors to MATTA Fair and ensuring that we deliver Malaysian hospitality,” said Lau.

She said the airline had introduced new facilities for First and Business Class passengers.

She also announced that Wi-Fi would be available on its A330 aircraft starting this month and by the middle of next year, all its wide-body aircraft will have Wi-Fi. Its A350 fleet is already equipped with the facility.

Visitors can also look forward to discounts of up to 45% from Malaysia Airlines on domestic and international fares.

“This means best-ever prices to numerous destinations, for example London at RM2,600, Taipei at RM799 and Perth at RM899,” Lau highlighted.

Firefly will be offering discounts of as much as 60% on fares for their destinations, while Enrich members will receive 62% bonus Enrich Miles – to mark the 62nd National Day – when they purchase Malaysia Airlines’ tickets.

In line with Malaysia Airlines’ support of national sports teams, there will be special appearances by Team Harimau Malaysia at MATTA fair along with several football legends.

The Malaysia Airlines booth is at the entrance to Hall 2 of Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

MATTA Fair starts today until Sunday. There will also be plenty of promotional deals from hotels and theme parks.
