No place for politicians who do not serve sincerely

There are all sorts of political happenings in Sarawak nowadays as politicians prepare for the state elections that must be held by the middle of 2021 but expected by middle of 2020.

There are also certain politicians who have become very active after lying low since the last state elections, flying into their areas in helicopters too.

They must visit their constituents regularly to understand and see to their needs, not just to get votes.

I have seen how state assemblymen and Members of Parliament (MPs) work and how they served their constituents.

Some work very hard and try their best to serve the people but there are those who only spend time on the ground near election time.

I know of some who spend the majority of their time in Kuala Lumpur or Kuching instead of being with their constituents in northern Sarawak.

Some holding ministerial and deputy minister posts seldom come back to their constituencies.

And even when they do come back, they end up holding meetings or parties in posh hotels.Very seldom do they go to the ground.

The ordinary folk with problems often have to make appointments and try very hard to meet their elected leaders.

I hope that voters will be more discerning at election time and choose only those worthy of the posts.Vote in only those who are sincere in wanting to serve.
