‘Dredging not cause of mass fish kill’

PENANG Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) has given an assurance that its maintenance dredging cannot be a cause of any pollution in Teluk Bahang’s waters that led to the recent death of thousands of fish.

Chief executive officer Sasedharan Vasudevan said the port had been doing maintenance dredging since 1987 and followed stringent procedures set by Department of Environment (DOE).
