JOHOR BARU: Little did 70-year-old retiree Wong Ah Yin know that a trip to the Malaysia International Travel Market (Johor MITM 2019) would yield not only great travel packages for him but also the top lucky draw prize of RM8, 888 in cash vouchers.
Wong visited the fair at Sutera Mall in Skudai to book two tour packages to South Korea and was entered for the lucky draw.
Twenty-nine travel agents took part in the travel fair organised by the Malaysia Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA) from July 19 to 21.
“The most popular destinations among visitors during the three-day travel fair were China, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam as well as cruise packages, ’’ said treasurer and organising chairman Vin Ng after conducting the lucky draw sessions at the association’s Johor Chapter office in Taman Pelangi here.
Also present at the draw were MCTA deputy chairman Edwin Tay Kian Chuan, honorary secretary and outbound division head Ken Oh and committee member Eric Low Guan Long.
The second prize, cash vouchers worth RM6, 888, went to Lee Yi Hwan while Tan Yuan Ho won the third prize worth RM3, 888 in cash vouchers.
