JOHOR BARU: Many events, including exhibitions and an explorace, will be held in conjunction with the soft launch of Visit Johor 2020.
Johor tourism, women development, family and community committee chairman Liow Cai Tung said Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal is expected to reveal the mascot and logo to kick-start the VJ2020 campaign at Paradigm Mall here on Saturday.
“We will announce the winner of the logo and mascot design competition where the winning design embodies a cheerful concept welcoming visitors to Johor, ” she added.
Liow, who is also the Johor Jaya assemblyman, said this during the soft launch of VJ2020 at Komtar JBCC yesterday.
She said among the attractions during the event from Aug 16 to 18 are exhibitions by various theme park operators such as Legoland Malaysia, Sanrio Hello Kitty Town, MCM Studio, Austin Height Adventure Park, Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark, Angry Bird Park, Kejora and Johor Homestay Association.
She added that the theme parks would offer interesting packages during the three-day promotion.
“Besides that, as the first step, Tourism Johor will carry out the Discovery Darul Ta’zim with the cooperation of all the district offices and local authorities from Aug 30 to Sept 1.
“It is an explorace event where 50 teams with four members will travel to every corner of Johor with specific tasks given which they must carry out as well as answer questions about the local history, ” she said.
