AROUND 150 trees along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah in Gelugor, Penang, are being pruned to create a safer and more attractive environment for road users.

Penang Island City Council (MBPP) landscape department director Azizul Fahmi Muhamad said the city council had taken over the maintenance of roadside trees along federal roads and state roads from Public Works Department (JKR) since June this year.
