Mission to rescue dogs lacks funding

The dog shelter run by Furrykids Safehaven is overcrowded and a bigger place is needed to continue the cause successfully.

LESS than two years ago, retired teacher Sathiavany Madhavan and some of her friends rallied to find homes for 80 stray dogs that faced the possibility of being put to sleep at a dog pound in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

The animal lovers, who all live in Seremban, set up a non-governmental organisation (NGO) called Furrykids Safehaven in an attempt to save the canines.
