KLUANG: The Johor government will proceed with the construction of the Bukit Payong sanitary landfill in Parit Sulong near Batu Pahat.

Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal said the decision was made following the closure of CEP 1 Estate Sanitary Landfill in Simpang Renggam in March after reports of leachate overflow into a nearby river.
