PENANG gears up for the Bon Odori Festival today with the lighting of a life-sized replica of Japan’s Kaminarimon Gate at the Queensbay Mall outdoor car park in Bayan Lepas.
Penang tourism development, arts, culture and heritage committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said the replica was around 11m tall and 6m wide, which is similar to the size of the original gate in Tokyo, Japan.
