KEDAH Fashion Week (KFW) returned to Aman Central, Alor Setar, with a bold statement.
The fourth edition of the event highlighted the innovative fashion industry in South-East Asia, featuring 18 renowned designers who took part in 26 runway shows.
The event with the theme ‘4.0’ was all about wearable avant garde fashion.
Aman Central senior marketing manager Ken Chin said the mall served as a platform to promote diversity and innovation.
“This event will boost Kedah’s presence on the global fashion scene.
“It showcased not just well-known local names but also talents from other countries including designer Yadanar from Myanmar,” he said about the recent event.
Chin added that KFW distinguished itself from other runway shows by supporting the mall’s tenants to showcase their latest contemporary collections.
The line-up for the official tenants included Studio, Swatch, ICAHFA, Siti Khadijah, Rina Salleh, Carlo Rino, & Cosas United.
Combining the latest stunning trends with modest wear, the event had a good mix of elements.
For the first time ever, there was a night dedicated to men called ‘Men’s Night Out’.
With each designer showing off a unique style, the runway shows were a feast for the eye.
Special guest artistes livened up the event including award-winning singer Hafiz Suip who serenaded the crowd during the KFW 4.0 Gala Night.
Rising artiste Andi Bernadee and another award-winning singer Ara Johari were the highlights of Men’s Night Out.
At the grand finale featuring masterpieces from mall tenants and designers from Malaysia and overseas, best vocalist of Anugerah Juara Lagu-32 (AJL) Ernie Zakri entertained the big crowd.
Gracing the grand finale were Raja Puan Muda of Kedah Che Puan Muda Zaheeda Mohamad Ariff, Tok Puan Norzieta Zakaria (wife of Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir), Datin Hariyanti Amit (wife of Kedah State Secretary Datuk Ammar Shaikh Mahmood Naim), Nor Afza Osman (wife of state financial officer Isahak Murat), Belleview Group managing director Datuk Sonny Ho and Belleview Group directors Datin Suryani and Grace Ho.
Three special designer recognition awards were awarded to Syafieq Ayman (Best Fashion Presentation), Wan & Mary (Best Fashion Collection) and Seth & Luna (Designer of The Year).
They were each presented with an exclusive BMW x KFW limited edition trophy while other designers were given exclusive tokens of appreciation.
Aman Central also gave out gifts to shoppers who were OOTD or ‘outfit of the day’ enthusiasts.
The contest winners who uploaded their OOTD won Pandora gift cards worth RM100 each and exclusive passes.
Supporters of Kedah Fashion Week 2019 were BMW (Lee Motors), StarCity, Grab, Sense3, Peak Fitness, Barbara Flower Shop, Bronis, Lyfe, Muas Mo, Himalaya, Bath & Body Works and Crunchy Media Studio.
