CHATEAU De Caffeinees was decked out in blue, white and red during an event to introduce French beer Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc.

The opulent decoration evoked the feel of a marquee, while candles and red, white and blue roses added to the French ambience and atmosphere as guests enjoyed the smooth, chilled and refreshing notes of the premier 1664 Blanc.

Carlsberg Malaysia managing director Ted Akiskalos welcomed French ambassador to Malaysia Frederic Laplance to the “Dinner in Blue” event.

“Our premium French wheat beer 1664 Blanc is produced in a country of fine taste and fashion.

“We hope to continue inspiring everyone to share beautiful moments with loved ones at dinner occasions while enjoying a good tasting brew,” said Akiskalos.

Laplanche said he was glad to see the success of Kronenbourg in Malaysia.

Guests were treated to fish, French onion soup as well as lobster and chicken roulade, washed down with the crisp and refreshing liquid smoothness of the beer which has a hint of citrus.

Dessert from Nathalie Gourmet Studio added a note of sweetness and capped off the spread of gastronomic delights perfectly.

As Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc is the official beer of the upcoming KL Fashion Week 2019 (KLFW), diners were also treated to a fashion show by seven designers participating in KLFW, with models showing off creations from Jimmy Lim, Laguna Sydney, Cassey Gan and Maarimaia.

Part of the evening’s festivities also included a fireworks display to celebrate France’s national day, popularly known as Bastille Day.

While diners mingled, a live ensemble of musicians played classic French and jazz tunes, with vocalist Joy Victor taking centrestage to serenade guests.

A highlight of the evening was the personalised tall, frosted beer glass that each guest received bearing their names. — By AMANDA SURIYA
