THIS year marks the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing and the Astronomical Society of Penang hopes to create more awareness about the historic day.

Society president Dr Chong Hon Yew said it was a breakthrough in science at the time as the first moon landing remains one of the highest achievements of human work and ingenuity.
