BANDAR Rimbayu’s “Raya Legendary” marked the final leg of IJM Land’s Hari Raya open house series.
The event at Bandar Rimbayu in Selangor featured a special performance by Malaysia’s Queen of Jazz Datuk Sheila Majid.
The festivities, celebrated across five properties, brought community and residents of various races together, embracing Malaysia’s diversity and culture.
IJM Land’s first open house celebration began in Penang at Permatang Sanctuary, followed by a fun-filled double celebration of Hari Raya and Father’s Day at Riana Dutamas in Kuala Lumpur.
The celebration continued with Alam Suria Enclave in Shah Alam and Seremban 2.
Both locations included entertainment from Era and Zayan’s radio DJs, Ayda Jebat, Hael Husaini and Misha Omar, before closing with Bandar Rimbayu.
Some 6,300 guests were at the open houses.
“We open not just the doors of our homes, but also our hearts to guests, notwithstanding faith and ethnicity,” said IJM Land managing director Edward Chong.
“It is a Malaysia-centric culture that has been preserved through generations and celebrated by all.”
As part of IJM Land’s “Celebrating Our Festival” series, he said festive occasions were a timely platform to appreciate our rich community tapestry while advocating unity in diversity.
“We get to enjoy our food, be with our family and friends while retaining a key aspect of our culture of visiting the homes of family and friends.
“Our future celebrations will be the Mid-Autumn Festival and Deepavali,” he added.
Guests at IJM Land’s open house enjoyed Hari Raya staples such lemang, ketupat, rendang, and satay.
On top of festive delicacies and cultural performances, each venue featured different activities for guests such as batik demonstration and ketupat weaving.
IJM Land’s “Celebrating Our Festival” series began in 2014 and continues to be an annual event.
