LRT alignment not affecting mosque and cemetery, says DCM I

THE state government reiterates that the proposed Light Rail Transit (LRT) alignment will not encroach into Masjid Jamek Sungai Nibong Besar and its burial grounds.

“The Penang Islamic Religious Council (MAINPP) had been told in a meeting that the LRT alignment would not enter any part of the cemetery or mosque, either on the land or the air space above it,” said Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman during a recent press conference at Komtar.
