A SEMINAR will be held to brief tourism industry players on the assistance they can get from various agencies.
Perak Tourism Committee chairman Tan Kar Hing said the “Perak Tourism Business Opportunities Seminar” would be held at Syuen Hotel in Ipoh on July 6.
He said the seminar was meant to provide information to industry players and those interested in venturing into tourism.
“Not a lot of people, including industry players, are aware of the incentives and funds available,” Tan told a press conference at the state secretariat building.
Among the agencies involved are the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry, Tourism Malaysia, North Corridor Economic Region (NCER), Tekun, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDeC), Yayasan Perak, Tourism Perak and SME Bank.
Tan said the aid included special funds by the ministry and NCER to help tourism operators and related businesses.
“MDeC also offers services like creating websites, product write-ups and search engine services.
“Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik will be the guest of honour at the seminar, which is expected to attract over 500 participants,” he added.
