THE Meng Eng Soo open day 2019 will feature a time tunnel explaining the development of the temple over the years.
Event main planner Lee Xue Yi said the time tunnel would be divided into six different scenes in visual form so that visitors could understand the stories better.
“After visiting the time tunnel, visitors can stop by our special ‘kopi & roti’ stall that sells only kopi-o and charcoal-toasted homemade kaya bread.
“We also encourage visitors to dress in traditional costumes during the event,” he said.
The open day, organised by Penang Chinese Clan Council, will be held from 5pm to 10pm on Sunday as part of the George Town Heritage Celebrations 2019.
Council president Datuk Yeap Beow Chong said Jalan Pintal Tali would be closed from 10pm on Saturday to 11.59pm on Sunday.
“We seek the cooperation of the public to park their vehicles outside the event zone.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” he said during a press conference at the Meng Eng Soo Temple on Saturday.
