THE Kedah Integrated Fisheries Terminal (Kift) project will not only make available deep-sea fishing facilities in Kuala Kedah, but also act as a catalyst for the country’s fishing industry, said Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.

He said Kift, costing about RM1bil, is also expected to be a landing centre for tuna fishing in the Indian Ocean, where the catch would be processed at the terminal and then exported to China through Qingdao.
