A FAMILY in Taman Angkasa, Kuala Lumpur is living in fear after their house was splashed with red paint and hit with eggs on several occasions.
Owner Low Chee Beng, 49, who bought the house earlier this year, believes the incidents were targeted at its previous owner.“On June 13, I went to check on my house’s renovation at around 7pm but was shocked to find eggshells on the porch.
“There were also pictures of the previous owner, his phone number and the word penipu (liar) printed on several pieces of paper that were scattered in front of my house.
“The second incident occurred on June 22 at 10am when my neighbour alerted me that a man was throwing five packets of red paint at my house.
“Unfortunately, the CCTV footage from the opposite house could not identify the culprits,” said Low.
He lodged police reports over both incidents and alerted the previous owner, identified only as Indran, but claimed that the latter denied of any knowledge of who was behind the act.
“It is possible that the culprits are looking for the previous owner and did not know that he had moved out.
“I have also installed a CCTV to prevent similar incidents from happening,” he said.
Low has put notice boards on his front gate informing of the house’s change of ownership.
He said he planned to move into the house soon.
Seputeh MP Teresa Kok’s secretary Alice Lan told reporters that the police was still investigating the incidents.
“We suspect that the previous owner was in need of money because the house was sold at below market price.
“The renovated house was sold to Low for RM700,000 but with its design, the market price would have been about RM800,000.
“We will continue following up with the police on this case,” she added.
