Guests helping themselves to the delicious food.

MORE than 500 people attended the Hari Raya open house organised by the Penang Immigration Department.

The merry afternoon event was held at the open space of its headquarters in Seberang Jaya, Butterworth.

The guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet spread of rendang, ketupat, lemang, bubur, laksa, ayam golek, kuih, apom balik, pulut durian, pulut mangga, curry puffs, satay and many other delicacies.

They were also entertained by a musical band while tucking into their food.

Among those enjoying the joyful atmosphere were Penang Immigration Department director Muhamad Husni Mahmud and deputy director (management) Datuk Makhzan Mahyuddin along with Penang police chief Comm Datuk T. Narenasagaran and Penang Customs director Datuk Saidi Ismail.

Also present were Penang Immigration Department deputy director P. Arvind, Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid and Penang Road Safety Department director M. Thurkahthevi.

Muhamad Husni and Makhzan also gave away duit raya to 50 children during the celebration.
