RHB Banking Group’s (RHB) Art With Heart 2019 (AWH 2019) exhibition, which opens on Monday, is set to showcase more than 100 artworks by 27 young, emerging and established local artists.
The third edition of AWH is themed “Diversity & Inclusivity”, and is set to promote a mix of local talents comprising art undergraduates, first-time exhibitors and experienced artists who have made a name for themselves internationally.
The exhibition underlines RHB’s commitment towards nurturing talents in Malaysia’s art scene.
“The Art with Heart exhibition provides young and emerging artists a platform to showcase their talent and ideas, promotes the local art scene, and encourages the public to appreciate the works of the home-grown artists,” said RHB chief communications officer Norazzah Sulaiman.
“This year’s exhibition promises to be a unique interpretation of the theme through the artworks. We hope the exhibition provides the participants, especially the young and upcoming ones, the mileage to reach a larger audience.”
The exhibition will feature the works of six artists from Universiti Malaysia Sabah, led by the renowned Sabahan artist Prof Dr Zaimie Sahibil, who is well-known for his innovative use of colours, technique and materials.
Unique displays include colourful wood and aluminium mixed- media works by Dayang Mazianah Sidek, indigenous community design renditions by Mohd Auzal Khan Bakri, and 3D depictions of traditional Rungus longhouses by Tay Lu Yee.
Norrazah said the artworks would also be available for sale, with prices ranging from RM500 to more than RM26,000.
A 5% discount awaits buyers who make purchases from any RHB account.
