FOR the past week during the Hari Raya celebrations, waste discarded on the Penang mainland spiked by 35% to 40% daily.
Seberang Prai Municipal Council (MPSP) president Datuk Rozali Mohamud said on regular days, the amount of waste collected averaged at 850 tonnes per day.
