UOA Hospitality (UOAH) organised a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes in keeping with the season’s spirit of caring and sharing.

The activities included food distribution in Bangsar South, fundraising and a food donation drive in aid of two orphanages in Kuala Lumpur.

Starting off with a simple gesture, UOAH associates prepared, cooked and packed bubur lambuk for distribution to the local community.

Some 500 packs of the bubur lambuk were distributed to motorists along Jalan Kerinchi in Kuala Lumpur.

“We wanted to take part and share the joy of buka puasa with our neighbours and the community,” UOAH said in a statement.

Proceeds from the bubur lambuk fundraising campaign throughout Ramadan were channelled towards the children of Rumah Amal Al-Firdaus.

Forty children from the home were later invited for the breaking of fast event at a hotel managed by UOAH.

UOAH also held a buka puasa dinner for more than 50 children from Pusat Jagaan Anak Yatim & Miskin Sri Kundang.

In addition, more than 400kg of essentials such as rice, cooking oil, flour, canned food and milk powder were collected and contributed to the home.

UOAH Human Resources group director Haikal Maarof said, “We carry on these simple traditions every year so that underprivileged children and charity homes can receive the provisions and monetary assistance that they need during Ramadan and Hari Raya.”
