THE Mrs Malaysia Tourism Queen International 2019 aims to not only give contestants a platform to contribute to tourism but also highlight their accomplishments.
“Every woman deserves a chance to shine and this stage is the beginning,” said Mrs Malaysia Tourism Queen International 2019 director Audris Kok during a press conference in Petaling Jaya to publicise the pageant.
“This is a new and exciting journey for me as I was a businesswoman and seldom put myself in the spotlight.
“However, I am willing to take up the challenge of standing in the front line to mentor these contestants to prove that married women have so much more to contribute to society.”
Kok said women needed to empower each other and break free from the mindset that married women should stay at home.
“Their rich experience and knowledge of local businesses, brands, food, fashion and tourist attractions can be put to good use to promote Malaysia,” she said.
Also present at the press conference was ERM Marketing Sdn Bhd managing director Sean Chia.
The company has appointed Kok as the franchise holder for this year’s pageant.
Mrs Malaysia Tourism Queen 2019 will consist of five main categories and six sub-categories, including Best in Talent, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Kebaya, Best Popularity, Mrs Photogenic and Mrs Friendly.
