KUANTAN: Pahang must explore new sources of revenue such as from the digital economy, green and renewable energy, health tourism and sports because it cannot depend on minerals and timber forever, said its Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
“The slogan #majuterusPahang which I introduced when I took over the administration of the state on May 15, 2018 is aimed at making Pahang a state that can stand on its own feet with a sustainable economy, good management of resources and an efficient administration for the well-being of the people.
“We were successful in raising state revenue in the first four months of 2019 to RM181.5mil, compared to RM140.2mil during the same period last year,” he said.
Wan Rosdy also highlighted the “PahangGo” application developed by young talents in the state that was launched in July.
He said for digital economy, the application would assist in implementation of online businesses and cashless transactions in line with Industrial Revolution 4.0 trends. — Bernama
