EXPRESS Rail Link (ERL) Sdn Bhd is hosting its first bazaar called “Bazaar Tarakucha Raya 2019” at the KLIA Ekspres Arrival Hall in KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur (near Secret Recipe).

The bazaar, curated and organised by The Space Rocker, features some 40 vendors across a 464.5sq m space.

Shoppers looking to make their Raya preparations can check out the vendors selling products such as clothes for adults and children, cookies, shoes, watches, headscarves, cosmetics and songkok, including those by celebrity brands such as Naelofar Hijab, Kylez by Shafiq Kyle and Zoud by Nabil Ahmad.

“We are having this bazaar in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri, so people passing through the KL Sentral rail hub can also do their Raya shopping,” said ERL Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Noormah Mohd Noor.

“Apart from that, the event also serves as a platform for young entrepreneurs to run their businesses and promote Malaysian products.”

She said the bazaar marked the beginning of ERL Sdn Bhd’s venture into events, as there are plans to lease the space for other events in future.

“Our business development team has plans to turn this underutilised space, which was previously ERL’s check-out area, for other small-scale events such as travel fairs, book sales and other festive bazaars.

“We welcome collaborations with anybody who wishes to run promotions or events here,” said Noormah.

She shared that she was pleasantly surprised to see a good turnout on the first day of the bazaar.

“There are plenty of potential customers here at the KL Sentral rail hub, including daily commuters, inter-city commuters, tourists and office workers,” said Noormah.

“KL Sentral alone has a footfall of 160,000 persons per day.

“The bazaar will also serve to complement the restaurants nearby, as shoppers can have their meals before or after shopping at the bazaar.”

ERL Sdn Bhd is confident that the bazaar will do well as there are many potential customers, including daily and inter-city commuters, tourists and office workers.

“We are also working with Boost as our eWallet partner,” said ERL Sdn Bhd sales and business development management vice president S. Kalithasan, adding that ERL was an early adopter of the cashless agenda.

“Shoppers who spend RM50 using Boost will get a RM5 cashback that is only valid at the bazaar.”

Bazaar Tarakucha Raya 2019 will be held until June 2, from 10am to 10pm daily.
