SHAH Alam residents can now send their recyclables to the Bukit Jelutong Recycling Centre.
The centre does not only collect and sort recyclables, all funds are channelled to charity through the Tzu Chi Foundation.
It was launched by Kota Anggerik assemblyman Najwan Halimi in a ceremony organised by Shah Alam City Council MPP Zone 19 and Bukit Jelutong Residents’ Association (BJRA).
Najwan commended the efforts and commitment of local volunteers and residents towards environmental protection.
He also presented BJRA with a cheque of RM10,000 to support their community projects.
The opening ceremony was followed by a tour of the recycling centre.
Guests were also given a guided tour of the BJRC garden and plant exchange corner where residents can bring their flowers, herbs, vegetables and fruits to be exchanged.
