THE state was told to fight for Unesco recognition for its hawker culture before it is given up to Singapore and risked losing the recognition as a hawker food paradise.

Lee Khai Loon (PH-Machang Bubok) said the state government should seriously pursue the matter to ensure that Penang was also listed alongside Singapore.
