Ramadan aid for Penang mosques

THE Penang government has allocated RM240,000 for Ramadan to 231 mosques and surau Jumaat (which hold Friday prayers), statewide.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said RM5,000 would be given to the state mosque, the five district mosques RM2,000 each, and the 207 masjid kariah, nine non-kariah mosques (which do not hold Friday prayers), and nine surau Jumaat RM1,000 each.
