Celebrating metal and automation

The Metaltech and Automex exhibition will be held at Mitec from May 15 to 18.

MALAYSIA’S largest event dedicated to metalworking and machine tools, Metaltech, alongside automation and technology exhibition Automex, is ready to break the record books this month as it celebrates its 25th anniversary with a much anticipated move to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) in Kuala Lumpur.

The four-day extravaganza from May 15 to 18 will feature eight large halls with more than 1,500 exhibitors (including the largest pillar-less exhibition hall in Malaysia), a comprehensive series of cutting edge conferences and seminars as well as a full suite of business-matching services that facilitate constructive on-site business meetings.

Taking full advantage of the innovative and advanced facilities available at Mitec, Metaltech and Automex 2019 will showcase a complete spectrum of product showcases, live demonstrations and some of the largest purpose-built installations ever seen at Malaysian trade fairs.

“After 24 years of strong year-on-year growth, it is fitting that we celebrate our 25th anniversary with our largest and most ambitious event yet.

“With a brand-new venue that has incredibly advanced facilities, we are excited to provide both our exhibitors and visitors with a truly enjoyable, productive and meaningful experience,” said UBM Malaysia country general manager Gerard Willem Leeuwenburgh.

With the landmark event expected to draw a record-breaking turnout of 20,000 international visitors this year, organisers have pulled out all the stops to provide top of the line facilities at Mitec, including valet parking services, a VIP lounge, food stations, rest lounges, shuttle services and a host of other amenities to enhance convenience, accessibility and comfort.

The fully revamped industrial seminar series has been expanded and enhanced this year to take a deep dive into the manufacturing and production advancements ushered in by the fourth industrial revolution, including the Nine Pillars of Industry 4.0 (Day 1), Advanced Manufacturing and Smart Automation (Day 2) and Advanced Precision and Quality Controls Inspection (Day 3).

A number of activities are also slated for the event’s 25th anniversary celebrations, including special lucky draws which will see one pre-registered attendee winning a brand-new Apple iPad Pro on each day of the exhibition.

Metaltech and Automex have once again enjoyed strong support from local and international industrial agencies. These include the International Trade and Industry Ministry, Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry, the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) and Singapore’s International Marketing Activities Programme (iMAP).
