RETIREE Mat Hamid Roslan, 62, had always wanted to register for the state’s RM130 aid for senior citizens but never had the chance.

Luckily for him, a roadshow on welfare aid in the Jelutong parliamentary constituency in Penang made it possible for him to apply for the cash.

“I read about the aid on the iSejahtera website and wanted to apply for it but couldn’t find the time.

“I’m so glad the agency took part in the roadshow and the registration was really easy.

“The people at the roadshow took the time to explain the process to me and I truly appreciate this,” he said at the roadshow held at SJKT Jalan Sungai.

Jelutong MP R.S.N. Rayer said the event was a joint collaboration by his service centre and the state constituency service centres of Batu Lanchang, Datuk Keramat and Sungai Pinang.

“We want to make sure our constituents will benefit from all of Penang’s community welfare initiatives,” he said.

More than 10 booths were set up during the event including booths by Employee Provident Fund and the police.

Also present at the roadshow was Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim.
