THE Le Cordon Bleu (LCB) Alumni Malaysia chapter organised the Blue Ribbon Artistry photo exhibition featuring images captured by Malaysian-born photographer Kid Chan.
A media preview of the exhibition was attended by LCB International president and chief executive officer Andrés Cointreau, French ambassador Frederic Laplanche as well as several alumni, including Datin Su Wai Fun, Datuk Fazley Yaakob and chefs Darren Chin, Johnson Wong, Nikom Uatthong and Abang Brian.
“Blue Ribbon Artistry is a photo exhibition featuring LCB alumni in their element, highlighting their passion, creativity and talent.
“You will see how raw materials are transformed into gastronomic masterpieces where the chefs’ emotions as well as thoughts are captured.
“This exhibition shows great
artistry in both the photography and culinary fields,” said Cointreau.
The photo exhibition showcases six iconic alumni who are now renowned professionals.
The photographs capture
their intense concentration and individual characteristics while at work.
LCB Malaysia’s support for the exhibition reflects its guardianship of French culinary techniques.
The initiative also marks the start of a year-long fundraising campaign for “Culinary Hearts”, a CSR project by the alumni to sponsor a student who is unable to afford fees at LCB Malaysia.
Any shortfall of fees to complete a nine-month programme will be topped up by the institute to fund the selected candidate.
Through its network of educational institutions that offer
culinary and hospitality instruction, aspiring chefs are equipped with the necessary skills and experience to launch a career in fields of their choice.
The photographs can be viewed at Le Cordon Bleu’s Restaurant Espace Andre Cointreau at Sunway College, Bandar Sunway, Selangor.
