KUANTAN: The Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (Fama) targets a total of RM3mil in sales from its Direct Sales from Farm (JTDL) 2019 from 400 programmes to be implemented in stages throughout the year.
Its director-general Datuk Ahmad Ishak said the target was based on JTDL’s revenue of RM3.3mil through the implementation of 488 programmes involving 819 participants last year.
“These programmes allow consumers to buy fresh and high quality products because they are brought directly from the farm.
“Participants can also offer consumers more affordable prices ranging from five to 20% lower than market prices,” he said after launching the state-level JTDL promotional tour here.
The four-day programme saw 20 participants from Pahang, Terengganu and Johor.
Ahmad said the promotional tour of fresh agricultural products under the Contract Farming programme would also be extended to eight hypermarkets nationwide. – Bernama
