A MEMORIAL ceremony was held at Kwong Tong Cemetery Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with Qingming Festival to commemorate the Nanyang Volunteers for their heroic contributions during World War II.

The nine batches of volunteers were made up of 3,192 drivers and mechanics from South-East Asia, who left their families and homes to join the Chinese resistance during the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1939.
