SWISS watch brand Mido has launched its latest Multifort Chronometer1 model, the first in the collection to be fitted with the Caliber 80 Si, a COSC-certified chronometer movement featuring a silicone balance-spring.
This component is said to offer far greater long-term accuracy than a standard balance-spring and has improved resistance to magnetic fields and impacts.
The watch was launched by Mido area sales manager Manuela Caprarelli at Slate @ The Row in Kuala Lumpur, in the presence of celebrity Remy Ishak as well as Mido friend JC Chee.
Themed “Super Precision + High Technology”, the evening paid tribute to Multifort Chronometer1’s unique design codes and movement, fitted out with a touch of industrial architecture.
At the pre-event activities, guests had a chance to win Mido gifts upon completing challenges.

Later in the evening, entertainment was provided in the form
of a Parkour performance, followed by a unique LED dance and a fashion show to introduce the Multifort Chronometer1 collection.
The watch comes with a black dial that provides an elegant
contrast between the wide Geneva stripes and beige Super-LumiNova hands.
Fitted with a sturdy, satin-finished, polished 42-mm case with black PVD treatment, its rubber strap has a fabric insert, giving the watch an urban casual-chic design that’s perfect for any occasion.
With the inclusion of the Caliber 80 Si that is usually reserved for luxury watches, the Multifort Chronometer1 gives formidable autonomy, with up to 80 hours of power reserve; it is also water-resistant up to 100m.
With the launch, Mido now carries seven models of the Multifort Chronometer1, said Mido Malaysia brand manager Heng Wei Hun, adding two models were brought in at the end of last year.
The guests were entertained by a unique LED dance performance.
The model also comes in steel and rose gold PVD, with a steel or leather bracelet, priced above RM5,000.
Heng, who is also The Swatch Group (M) Sdn Bhd’s Mido division vice-president, said that they are targeting young adults and senior managers.
“The strap is made out of state-of-the-art Quadura fabric, the same that’s used in the military; it is very strong and durable.
“It is suitable for Malaysian tastes as they like sporty watches.”
He hoped the brand would gain a larger market share with this latest addition to the collection.
The Multifort Chronometer1 collection is available at 59 points of sales, including its two mono brand stores at Pavilion Elite, Kuala Lumpur and Gurney Plaza in Penang.
