Piecing together the good moments

Popular Bookstore is inviting children to join its Kids Creative Collage Contest which ends on March 31.

POPULAR Bookstore turns 95 this year and to celebrate children while thanking loyal customers, it is organising the Kids Creative Collage Contest themed “Popular & You, Together”.

Parents with children aged between seven and 12 who want to showcase their creativity, only have to collect a drawing sheet from any of the 32 selected Popular/Harris branches across Malaysia until March 31.

The children are then required to colour up their happiest or most precious moments with/at Popular within the numbered area indicated, and submit completed artworks with personal details to any of the branches by March 31.

The idea behind a collage-based celebration is to highlight how Popular Group has illuminated and touched the lives of Malaysians from all walks of life for 95 years.

How it works is the 60 (uncoloured) components should be distributed across the 32 selected branches. Once the entries have been collated, the top 60 from across all branches will be selected and combined to form the giant “95”.

This collage will be displayed on a “celebratory lap” across Popular@IPC Shopping Centre, Selangor, BookFest@Malaysia 2019, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Popular@ Aeon Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre, Selangor, Popular@Ipoh Parade, Perak, Popular@Gurney Plaza, Penang, Popular@Mid Valley Southkey, Johor, Popular Mega Bookfair@Persada Johor International Convention Centre, Johor, and Popular Mega Bookfair@ Melaka International Trade Centre, Melaka.

An attractive prize pool of RM38,000 comprising Popular gift vouchers, Sunway Lagoon tickets, Lego playsets and Pentel hampers await artists behind the top 60 art pieces.

Winners will receive a certificate each.

All 60 winners will be notified via Popular Book Co (M) Sdn Bhd’s Facebook and email on May 25.

The winners will be invited to receive their prizes at BookFest@Malaysia 2019 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, on June 7 from 6pm to 6.45pm.

Entry is free.
