GIRL2LEADER Malaysia, an initiative which aims to help develop talent among young girls to become future leaders, will be hosting “Speak To Lead”.
The informal discussion session will be attended by former International Trade and Industry Minister Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz and will be held on March 24 at Common Ground, Ampang, at 2pm.
Girl2Leader Malaysia president Nurainie Haziqah Shafi’i said the event was open to young women aged between 16 and 25, and registration was still open.
“This discussion session is held on a monthly basis and this month, Rafidah will be our guest of honour.
“The girls get to listen to the leaders speak and have the opportunity to ask them questions about women in leadership roles.
“From our previous sessions, we noticed that most attendees asked very basic questions such as how to be confident and how to start their own initiatives.
“We had some school students who attended these sessions.
“Some lacked confidence, but by the end of the session, they had something positive to take away,” she said.
She said there was a girl who was afraid to introduce herself during the ice-breaking session.
“But after the event, she tweeted our guest speaker on Twitter, saying she was inspired by the session. We see this as something positive,” said Nurainie.
The event is RM20 and refreshments will be provided.
