MALAYSIA Airlines is sure to get holiday-goers in the mood for vacation with its attractive deals at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair this weekend.
Visitors can anticipate discounts of up to 30% on airfares to their favourite domestic or international destinations within the Malaysia Airlines network.
Malaysia Airlines group chief revenue officer Ignatius Ong said the discounted fares would be available throughout the three-day fair as well as online from tomorrow to March 18.
“Customers will also get to personalise their travel experience with a wide range of perks, including 20% off on MHinsure, preferred seat selection, extra baggage (prepaid), access to Malaysia Airlines’ Golden Lounge in Kuala Lumpur International Airport and 25% off for combo purchases of lounge access plus extra legroom or 10kg extra baggage plus standard seat selection,” shared Ong.
Ong also highlighted that the national carrier was giving away eight tickets through the fair’s Buyers’ Contest – two business class tickets to London and six economy class tickets to Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Saigon, Fuzhou, Brisbane and Kochi.
Visitors to the fair also stand a chance of winning prizes at the Malaysia Airlines booth, including a hotel stay at Datai Langkawi, autographed Liverpool jerseys and aircraft models.

“As the official airline, we are not only
committed to putting together the best deals with value-added travel benefits for our customers but we are also aware of our role in connecting people and places end to end,” said Ong.
This is the third time Malaysia Airlines has come on board as the official airline for the fair from tomorrow to Sunday at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur.
During a press conference to announce Malaysia Airlines as the official airline for MATTA Fair March 2019, Ong spoke about the national carrier’s progress and developments.
“Malaysia Airlines’ return to Kochi beginning March 31 marks the airline’s sixth destination in India.
“We have added three weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne from July 1 to Sept 30 and upgraded our daily services to Perth with the larger A330-200 aircraft, effective April 1.
“Other frequencies include to Osaka, Sri Lanka, Jakarta and Bangkok to facilitate huge passenger movement during peak travel
periods,” said Ong, adding that Malaysia Airlines was the only airline in the country which provides interline services to connect passengers to destinations beyond its current network via over 25 codeshare partners.
Ong said the First Class cabin on the A380s and A350s was upgraded to Business Suite due to the high traffic of business travellers.
Meanwhile, students aged between 18 and 26, can take advantage of the MHExplorer student travel programme where they can enjoy exclusive privileges such as discounts of up to 20% off on airfares all year round, additional 10kg baggage allowance on all classes, one complimentary travel date change, special friends and family promotions and Enrich miles.
Firefly will also be joining MATTA Fair March 2019 to offer discounts of up to 30% on airfares to any Firefly destination and giving away return tickets to Penang, Langkawi, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Baru and Johor Baru.
“Malaysia Airlines’ involvement at the fair is a testament to our long-term relationship and we trust that the airline’s participation will strengthen its presence,” said MATTA chief executive officer Phua Tai Neng.
Phua added that they were expecting at least 110,000 visitors and sales transaction of RM200mil.
He encouraged visitors to use public transportation, especially the LRT, to avoid traffic congestion and parking challenges.
MATTA Fair March 2019 is open from 10am to 9pm. Admission is RM4 per person and free for children aged below 12.
