Quiet surroundings during off-peak hours make commuters worried

DESPITE the bright lighting and security at the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTMB) Butterworth station, commuters still worry about their safety following the Feb 14 attack on a woman at the Taman Mutiara MRT station in Cheras.

Retired teacher Ng Phaik Wah, 65, who travels by train between Alor Setar and Penang every fortnight to visit her mother, said she did get scared when there was no one at the station.
