Pushing for Chingay to get Unesco status

JOHOR BARU: The state government will meet with the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry to push for the recognition of Chingay parade’s as United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) World Heritage.

State Women Development and Tourism Committee chairman Liow Cai Tung said request for the recognition had been sent to Unesco in 2012 by the Johor Ancient Temple.
