THE Persatuan Perkhidmatan Komuniti Taiping known as ESDA organised a choir performance featuring the Watoto Children Choir from Uganda, Africa.

ESDA, an association established since 1999, is aimed at reaching out to and helping the poor, needy and marginalised communities.

The event was held in conjunction with the association’s 20th anniversary at the St Louis Hall, where ESDA collaborated with the Taiping Catholic Church.

Eighteen orphans aged between six and 12 from the choir group sang and danced during the 90-minute concert.

More than 1,000 people attended the event, and all proceeds from ticket sales went to the choir group.

A total of RM14,200 was collected and presented to the group.

The organisers thanked the public for their support.
