A harvest of joy around the bonfire


The Lohri celebration traditionally sees people throwing sesame seeds into a bonfire, singing popular folk songs and dancing as well as gathering with family and friends before the harvest season begins.

SISTERS Reshminder, 21 and Sukhsheel Kaur, 26, would normally celebrate the Punjabi folk festival, Lohri, with an evening prayer at their gurdwara.

This year, their celebrations took them out of Klang and all the way to Kepong to join in the celebrations with the public at the Lohri Fiesta-Bonfire Celebration 2019.
