PENANGITES can look forward to an extra special celebration this Chinese New Year when for the first time, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng will jointly hold an open house with the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce (PCCC).
The event at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Bayan Lepas will be held on Feb 5 from 10am to noon.
Event organising chairman Datuk Seri Choot Ewe Seng said it was the first time the PCCC was holding an open house.
“This is an extra special event for us and we want everyone to join in,” he said at a press conference at the PCCC in Pitt Street.
“We have invited all the other chambers of commerce and want it to be a multi-cultural event.
“The open house is open to the public and there will be a buffet spread.
“Guests will be entertained with award-winning performances by local schools.
“We hope everyone will have a wonderful time celebrating with us.
“We want this event to promote unity among all of us.”
Lim expressed his gratitude towards PCCC in jointly holding the open house with him.
“It will be a special celebration and I invite everyone to come join us and celebrate the New Year,” he said.
