Burst pipe in PJ causes dry taps, low water pressure

PETALING JAYA: Residents in Section 17 woke up to low water pressure while some homes were without water at all on Wednesday morning (Jan 2).

According to Syabas, the source of the problem was a pipe that burst early in the morning at the intersection of Jalan 17/1 and Jalan 16/6, near the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) campus.

Besides Section 17, several other areas are also affected by the burst main.

These include parts of sections 16, 19, 21, 22 and SS2, while consumers in sections 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 19 are experiencing low water pressure.

During a visit by StarMetro at 11am, Syabas-appointed contractors were at work repairing the burst pipe.

According to Syabas, the repair works were expected to be completed by 6pm.
