ROADS and drainage in Bandar Damai Perdana are being upgraded to enhance safety and convenience.

The developer, as per Kajang Municipal Council’s (MPKj) instruction, is widening Persiaran Damai Perdana and Jalan Damai Perdana while road dividers will also be installed.

Traffic lights will be fixed at junctions along Persiaran Damai Perdana and the Jalan Damai Perdana 2 roundabout.

The project that began in October and expected to complete before school starts next year, is to make it easier for motorists to make U-turns and prevent accidents.

Balakong assemblyman Wong Siew Ki and MPKj councillor Khoo Khim Han conducted a site visit to check on the roadworks in front of SMK Bandar Damai Perdana.

Khoo said many residents complained that the roads and junctions are accident-prone.

“A few accidents happened, the road condition is very poor,” he said.

He added that they would push for the works to complete before the start of next year’s school term to make it convenient for residents and parents.

A plan to convert Persiaran Damai Perdana into a left-in/left-out road may be in place next year.

On the other hand, drains along Persiaran Damai Perdana and Jalan Damai Perdana will be widened and fitted with covers to improve capacity and safety.

Warning signage are put up throughout the construction period to prevent untoward incidents.
